Following the recent acquisition of QualitySolicitors, our Executive Chairman, Tony Stockdale, met with Eduardo Reyes at the Law Gazette to discuss the journey he, personally, has taken throughout his career and the continued growth of Metamorph.

Starting his career in 1978, Tony started his career in the accountancy sector at Thomson McLintock, a forerunner of KPMG. He later left to set up ‘a tiny accountancy practice’, Bentley Jennison. In 2007, Bentley Jennison became part of the RSM Network and within a year Tony was on the global board of RSM. In 2009 RSM Bentley Jennison merged with Tenon to form RSM Tenon.

Learning from mistakes

Sadly, RSM Tenon, after Tony had departed, failed due to a combination of differences in culture and poor management and was sold to Baker Tilley. Tony has reflected on his journey and discusses the crucial but practical lessons he has learnt along the way. Following on from RSM and Tenon. Tony founded the Metamorph Group in 2016. Metamorph Group has grown both organically and through a number of acquisitions and now employs over 650 people, one of the largest companies of it’s kind.

The recent purchase of QualitySolicitors has allowed Metamorph to become involved with a substantial national network of legal practices in addition to its in-house operations.
