Metamorph has successfully acquired 10 firms since 2016, providing expert business support, a route to succession and bolstering the firms’ success.
If you are law firm owner/partner who is passionate about what you do, but recognise the challenges that make it increasingly difficult to operate in a changing market in a way that works for your clients, your staff and yourself, then Metamorph could be part of your future.
Not all firms are suitable for our business model and we are selective about who we look to join our team.
We work with well-established legal brands with a good reputation in their local markets who predominantly focus on private client work (conveyancing, wills and probate, family matters etc) and services for SMEs and their owners.
We ideally look for the majority of principals to stay and work alongside us for the medium to long term
We are only interested in outright acquisitions of existing businesses. In nearly all cases this will be the purchase of the business and assets and not an acquisition of their current legal entity.
We will take on the successor practice PII responsibility.
We will pay the current fair value, based on the balance sheet and/or capital accounts, for the businesses we acquire over a suitable period.
Ideally, we want you to carry on doing what you have been doing, but with the added substantial resource that Metamorph brings to make the service and the experience better for you and your clients.
Those principals intending to stay will be offered employment contracts on suitable terms, which will include a minimum guaranteed term, with a suitable bonus structure and benefits package on top of a base salary based on current remuneration.
There will be opportunities for career progression within Metamorph. For those who grow with us, there will be the opportunity to share in the growth in the capital value of the business upon any exit.
Succession and longevity are assured and the local identity will be preserved and maintained.
Volume personal injury is not for us. Otherwise, we may be very interested in any that fit well alongside our core private client work, including suitable Legal Aid franchises.
As some of our backing and management comes from outside of the legal professions, we are necessarily a corporate ABS. We also believe this is the only way to create, grow and realise capital value and to bring professional decision-making, support and process into the strategies and operations of a business of this scale.
